The final weekend of the Yorkshire Counties saw us return to Ponds Forge in Sheffield for the 50 metre sprints followed by the team relays on the Sunday.

We were off to a good start on the Saturday morning in the 9/10 girls 50 free with Anya, Sophie, Yasmin and Bryony all gaining new P.B’s, both Yasmin and Bryony knocking 3 seconds of their previous times.  The 9/10 boys then took part in the 50 back with Thomas and Jack Newton both gaining P.B’s and Jack Cowling successfully reaching the final. The next finalist of the day was Caitlin who also reached the final in the 50 back, a good race also for Becci Foster who gained a P.B.  Our successes of the morning were to continue as Josh reached the final in the 50 breast and for young Scott Zimmerman a brilliant swim in the 50 fly final gaining him a gold medal, P.B and a new club record.  The last qualifier for a final in the morning events was Kieran in the 50 free which resulted in a 5th place and new P.B for him swimming under 30 seconds.

The afternoons events were to start with the younger girls again, this time swimming the 50 back with Yasmin, Amy, Orla and Bryony all swimming a new P.B.  The first afternoon finalist was Caitlin swimming the 50 breast and winning herself a bronze medal.   Kieran then increased our gold medal tally winning the 50 fly along with a new club record and a P.B for him.  Sophie swam an impressive 50 fly with a new P.B followed by Nathan knocking 2 seconds off his 50 free.  The last final of the day was Kieran winning a bronze medal in the 50 back.
