Full refunds will be given to all Scunthorpe Anchor swimmers as soon as Lincoln Vulcans send the entry cheque back to the club.

10/08/11 - Scunthorpe Anchor is one of the lucky 200 groups to be registered to win a share of a £20,000 prize fund through a competition that the Scunthorpe Telegraph is running. The name of the game is a coupon collect which will determine the share of the prize fund we receive. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you try to collect as many tokens as possible between Thursday August 18th and Thursday September 22nd to ensure we have a chance to receive a considerable amount of the pot.
Please ask friends, neighbours and work colleagues if they can save the coupons too. If the kids could maybe ask their school friends too that would be brilliant.
This is another chance to receive much needed club funds and I am sure if we can all work together we can make this a great success.
If coupons can be handed to any committee member that would be great.

16/07/11 - LEVEL 1 JUDGES & TIMEKEEPING COURSE
To allow Scunthorpe Anchor to host and compete in galas such as the Lincs Junior & Senior Leagues, Barnsley Minors league, Club Championships etc requires the club to provide various officials to organise such events.
Hence we are in the process of arranging the above course and are looking for a few more volunteers. The course will involve an initial 2hr session by an ASA tutor who is coming to Scunthorpe, followed by a period of ‘in-house’ assessment at any gala opportunities.
The initial introduction to the course is being planned for one evening during the first week of September.

Scunthorpe Anchor will be targeting the Hull Open Meet to be held over the weekend 2nd/3rd July 2011.
The meet will be open to all Scunthorpe Anchor swimmers with age groups ranging from 9 years - Open.

The meet entries are based on a first come first served basis so it would be appreciated if you could fill in the entry forms and return them as soon as possible.

All our committee members are volunteers and the club actively welcomes new members onto the committee. The club cannot operate without help from parents. To ensure that the club continues to develop we need to build our team of helpers to allow the smooth running of the club and ability to take part in competitions.
Due to members of the committee recently resigning from their post due to their children leaving the club we currently have a number of vacancies for various roles within the club and vacant seats on the committee. If you would be interested in helping the club in any capacity please speak to us or add your name to the notice on the board at the pool.

SCUNTHORPE ANCHOR 100 CLUB
Due to a fall in numbers for the 100 Club, members of the committee have taken the decision to stop running this at the end of 2010. A draw will take place for those existing members between September and December although the prize money will be reduced to £40.00.
Anyone who has already paid monies into 2011 and wishes to be given a refund should see Sue Strong after the Christmas break.

A very successful double weekend of swimming at Ponds Forge in Sheffield saw a further 6 National qualifying times achieved and an impressive medal haul of 7 Gold, 3 Silver and 6 Bronze.

Club Records - As from 1st April 2009 long course times will no longer be converted to 25M short course times. There will be two sets of records one for Long course and one for Short course. Previous records that may have been converted from long course times will not be changed.
